Been wanting to do something like this for awhile, I've had to think hard about how I would do this and I think I've got it all straightened out =O. MasakoX is to thank for this. Fair warning to anyone reading this, spoilers are a plenty in this so if you don't want to be spoiled I suggest you stop reading and check out the series beforehand then come back. Unless you don't care, in which case you can ignore what I just said XP.

Okay let's move on. For those not in the know here's a brief run down; Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is a spin off and sequel to the classic Shōnen Jump series Naruto. The story follows the exploits of Naruto Uzumaki's son, Boruto Uzumaki, and his friends as they start their journeys to become ninjas. Boruto becomes a member of a ninja team led by Naruto's protégé Konohamaru Saritobi, along with Sarada Uchiha, the daughter of Sasuke and Sakura Uchiha, and Mitsuki, Orochimaru's artificial son.

The series....is a mixed bag at best from what I've heard and after watching some of it I'd say that sounds about right. It has some highlights but it gets bogged down by a lot of problems. Said problems got me thinking: how would I do things? Could I do something with this series that can be it's own thing but also work as a worthy successor?

Well that's what I'm gonna try to find out! I'm gonna take this series and share with you guys how I would do it. Some elements I'll keep the same while others I'll change. Said changes will vary from minor to drastic. Why don't I just come up with something completely original? Well point blank I'm both too lazy and not knowledgeable enough to create my own Naruto-esque universe XP. One last thing before I get into it: this is all just my idea. By no means am I saying my version is better then the actual spin off or anything of the sorts. Feel free to share your own ideas/critiques/opinions if you so wish on my version and/or what you may have in mind for a Naruto Spin Off.

Okay so with all of that out of the way let's get to it!

To start off I'm downgrading Konoha. Not gonna get rid of all of its advancements, the train and the village looking more like a mini city for example are nice. However the use of modern computers, touch phones, and anything of that sort has gotta go. It's good for the village to go through some changes and advancements but going too far ahead is distracting. So what advancements in Boruto would be fine? Well flip phones seem reasonable enough, same goes for telephone booths, office phones, and cordless phones. Old fashion computers, VHS, TVs, satellite dish, headphones, radio of the non wireless type, and portable batteries seem alright. Email is still kinda a new thing, some trust it, others don't. Lastly is video games, the most advanced I see things getting is an NES like console but that's it. That about covers tech advancements.

Next I'm gonna downgrade Boruto. That's right in my version Boruto isn't the main focus, he'll still be apart of the main cast, and I'll get to what I'd change about him a little later, but he's not the lead protagonist of my version. So if he's not our main lead then who gets that spot instead? That would be none other than Sarada Uchiha. Now already I can imagine people looking at this choice with raised eyebrows, which is understandable, but just hear me out. The first thing I noticed about Sarada when I first learned about her is that she has more to work with as a main character then Boruto. No matter how many times I fixed his character, Boruto never quite fit that main protagonist role. Sarada on the other hand, with the right retooling, can work better as a main lead. Oh and girl power or something lol. In all seriousness having a strong female lead is really needed in the Naruto series, sure there are good female characters in the series but it could do better. So better late then never I say.

So in my version Sarada is our main protagonist. She is the daughter of Sasuke, the last surviving member of the Uchiha clan, and Sakura, the protégé of the Fifth Hokage and the world's best medical ninja. She grew up under harsh criticism by adults and peers. Why? Well in my version not everyone in Konaha is happy to have Sasuke, the same guy that has several crimes against the village mind you, walking around freely amongst them. While they don't explicitly express that like they did with Naruto, it manifests in more subtle ways at least when it comes to the adults. The kids on the other hand are more open about their disdain. In short Sarada has had to deal with a lot of harsh treatment for her last name. Thanks to her parents, the few friends she does have, and Naruto they help her have a positive outlook on things. The latter of which made the biggest impact on her. So from that moment with Naruto, Sarada now seeks to someday become Hokage.

Other changes I'd make relate to Sarada's parents. For Sakura her change is minor, I'd have her work as a doctor and/or teaching medical ninjutsu. Now for Sasuke I've got all kinds of changes for him. For one he'd be around more, sure he takes off for missions to keep the peace but he does find more time to spend at home in my version. Sasuke gets to have moments with both Sakura and Sarada, really make them feel like a family. "But wait King" the disembodied voice I'm making up for this to simulate an audience member says, "If Sasuke and Sarada have a good relationship what's the conflict?" In the original Sasuke not being around felt like a missed opportunity. In my version he's around but not all is well, for in this version Sarada finds out what her father did in the past. While this doesn't destroy Sarada and Sasuke's bond it does shake it up for a long while. I mean if you found out your parent did some terrible things I doubt you'd see them the same way. Not only that but the fact that it's his last name thats caused Sarada hardship wouldn't help either.

Alright that covers our main protagonist and her parents, lets move on to the others that make up this new team seven. First we have the sensei of the team Konohamaru Sarutobi and...he's fine. There's not much to change about him really, he has a nice big brother relationship with Boruto and he's already fairly strong. I guess if I did make a change I'd say he becomes a big brother to the rest of the team as well but other than that we'll leave him as he is. Same goes for Mitsuki, I like the idea of Orochimaru's artificial son trying to be a good guy. One change I'd make is that Orochimaru doesn't show up, seeing that guy at a parent teacher conference is weird as all hell .__.

Now we come to Boruto, our former main protagonist. I've downgraded him instead to Sarada's former spot of deuteragonist. Admittedly Boruto was the hardest character of the main cast to figure out what to do with. The first thing I'm changing about him is his relationship with his dad. While I'm fine with Naruto being very busy it annoys me that he doesn't seem to even try to be there for his family. So in my version Naruto tries harder to balance his home life and his duties as Hokage. Which is difficult because Naruto has the busiest work load of any Hokage during this time of peace. In my version Boruto doesn't resent his father but rather resents the position of Hokage. Due to the heavy workload being Hokage brings, it takes its toll on Naruto and makes it hard for him to spend proper time with his family. Because of this, Boruto ends up hating the Hokage's job and makes it known that the Hokage is something he NEVER wants to become. Naturally this causes some friction with his teammate Sarada, who DOES admire the position and wishes to become it someday. Over time Boruto comes to understand why the Hokage position is important and why so much work is needed for it. His dream initially is to become a great ninja but over time his dream changes to be there to support Sarada as an advisor when she becomes Hokage.Last but not least I'd make him more like Hinata in terms of fighting seeing as how he would spend a lot of time with his mother. So he knows how to use gentle fist and even can use the Byakugan. He can't do the Rasengan (until many years later) and while he can do Shadow clone jutsu he can only make three clones.

One last character I wanna talk about for the main cast is Shikadai. I'm making Shikadai apart of the main cast for several reasons. 1.) The idea of Shikadai not being close to Ino and Choji's kids so when he's paired with them he has to learn to get out of his comfort zone and learn to work with them is interesting to me, 2.) I like Shikadai's home life so I wouldn't mind seeing a little more of it, 3.) Considering we see him the most out of the supporting cast kids it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to consider him a main character. I'd probably only make two changes for him, the first being that his team is lead by Mirai Sarutobi as a sort of nice call back to the original team ten and I'd have him use more wind style jutsu.

As for the supporting characters and I'm gonna rapid fire through these:

- I'm making Denki Kaminarimon actually useful. He'd be the Armin Arlert of the cast, someone wanting to prove they can stand shoulder to shoulder with the others with a combination of his brains and his invention prowess. Yes I'm making him a would be inventor deal with it.

- While I like Metal Lee his nervousness around others bugs me. So I'm altering is so rather then be nervous when everyone is watching him he gets nervous when girls are watching him. Why? Because I'm putting him in a team with two other girls for both comedy and for character growth

- Shino as an academy teacher is amazing and I wouldn't change a thing about it.

- In the subject of teams yes I am switching some of the teams around. This is mostly due to personal preference, I don't like an all male/female team because variety is the spice of life and all that jazz. So in my version these are the new team set ups:

That roughly takes care of the supporting cast, now it's time to move on to story. In my version we don't start with an arc, that comes later, instead we start slow. In the beginning we're introduced to Sarada, Boruto, and Shikadai. From there the series starts off as more slice of life with action for awhile. Every episode introduces a new character, their personality, quirks, etc while also developing our main leads. This all building up to when all the character's start at the academy. Once we've got our cast established and the first of academy creeps ever closer we finally get to our first arc, The Nue Arc. This mostly plays out the same just with some obvious differences.

So if anyone wasn't able to tell from my extensive favorites folder on deviant art, I'm a huge Zootopia fan. I love the Fanfiction, the fan art, fan made comics, you get the picture

One fan comic I came across was Borba's fan comic titled "I Will Survive". In the story Nick and Judy are a couple, this aspect isn't new in the Zootopia fandom since a lot of people like to ship them together. I ship them myself so I had no problems pressing onward. But I digress, in the story Judy reveals to Nick that she is pregnant with his baby. Nick is at first ecstatic about the whole thing...that is until Judy tells him she doesn't want the baby, wanting to focus on her career as well as fearing what the baby will be like. Nick, not liking her answers, fires right back. The story has the two continue to argue over the matter until it ends with Nick leaving Judy.

After reading the story I just sort of shrugged and said, "Eh it's good but just not for me." and I didn't think too much of it there after. But then after reading the very well done Chapter 128 titled "Miracle" of Different Tails by Kittah4 (which can be found here - m.fanfiction.net/s/12042259/12…), then reading other people's reviews of it, and then re-reading the comic myself, it started to piss me off, like, really really REALLY piss me off. I thought about what Borba did to Nick and Judy in this story and...yeah it's a dick move! I Will Survive turned two of the most likable characters in Disney, two characters who have become some of my favorite characters in fiction into such uncompromising, unlikable, and just all around awful people.

So yeah in case you couldn't tell this story makes me angry. 😡

Now I was a watcher of Borba's work on devientART at the time this story came out. As of right now I'm not a watcher anymore...but not because of I Will Survive. No see I unfollowed Borba way before I started to really hate I Will Survive. The reason I unfollowed?

Okay before I go into my problems with this I wanna give some positive points. The mystery in this is sounds interesting...and that's it.

The rest?....Oh god what the hell am I looking at right now? -___-

First off the picture and the plot synopsis don't match up. At all.

The picture has this sort of romantic comedy vibe to it but the synopsis says this: "Nick goes to Tundratown district in search of Susu, the Arctic vixen who broke his heart. Only she can help him to find out who is sabotaging Tundratown's air conditioning system. But the truth could put Nick in big trouble ... again."

I can't be the only guy who thinks these don't fit together am I? Shouldn't the preview pic give the audience an idea of what the story is going to be about? All I'm getting from this picture is "Nick finds Vixen hot" not "Serious mystery that requires working with a vixen from the past"

Speaking of the vixen, named Susu in case you were curious, she's another problem with this. Susu is an ex of Nick's who, and I quote, broke his heart.

One: If she broke his heart why does the preview pic not show that? All this picture is telling me is that "Nick finds Susu hot but is trying to be professional yet failing while Susu just findings his attempts amusing". I don't know about you but if I was forced to work with my ex, especially the one that broke my heart, I would be rather pissed off.

Two: This is probably just nitpicking but why does this "Nick has an ex that broke his heart" trope keep popping up in the Zootopia fandom? From what I saw in the movie, Nick is not the kind of character that would let this kind of thing happen to him, especially when you factor in his past experiences. If anything I'd imagine Nick would be the heart breaker, not the other way around.

Three: Nothing about this story tells me it required Nick and Judy to be broken up. I don't see how that would make such a radical difference. If anything I'd think it would make the story more interesting. Nick being on his own to solve a mystery while having to fight temptation from his past.

And that last point brings me to the big reason why I unfollowed

From what I've gathered it turns out I Will Survive was apparently suppose to have a happy ending but Borba changed it so it could tie into this new story.

That pissed me off before I hated I Will Survive, so you can imagine how much worse it's gotten

Borba turned Judy and Nick into awful people, made them so very OOC to the point you can't even recognize them, made them say hurtful things to one another, he made them do all of that just so he could break them up and pair Nick up with his OC

No. Just no

But wait, some of you may say, this is just a preview. There's no guarantee that Nick and this Susu character will get together.

To which I respond with this: Okay you might be right so what? That doesn't change the fact that Borba royally screwed up two great characters and their strong bond with one another just so he could make this sequel.

I know that there are some people in the Zootopia fandom that don't like Judy and Nick being paired together, which is perfectly fine and understandable, but I'd think even they would find this a terrible way to separate the two.

Kittah4 said it best in their authors note in the previously mentioned Chapter 128 of Different Tails put it best:

"I'm sure there's a logical way to break up WildeHopps somehow, but making them posture as two selfish jerks on the far sides of a complicated and controversial issue isn't it."

Narrator: Many people enjoy April Fools' Day. It brings them great joy and makes some even go "hooray!" It allows people, whether content creators or just regular folk, to be as creative as can be. They make jokes and/or videos with the utmost glee. Pranks, gags, fake outs, videos, and jokes were all on full display. Humor of all kinds like to appear on this day. Yes, there are many who like April Fools' a lot....But the King of his own little world who sat in his room did not.

[We see King sitting in his room, looking grumpy]

Narrator: He hated April Fools'! The whole entire day! Please don't ask why -- we're not sure what source of madness is at play. It could be his head wasn't screwed on just right. Or perhaps it could be that his slippers were a little too tight. But I think the most likely reason of all was that his funny bone was just two sizes too small.

[King gets up and walks over to his laptop, the content playing on the screen is an April Fools' related video that only soured his mood more]

Narrator: But, whatever the reason, whichever you may choose, this King stayed in his room just wishing he had a bottle of booze. Staring down at his laptop with a distasteful frown, he never got what pleased all the people in town.

King: Can't they all see—

Narrator: ...said King.

King: ...that this day is nothing but crap? It's just one giant "joke" filled trap! Every single time this day rolls around, April Fools' videos are uploaded at what feels like the spread of sound. Fake news and hoaxes appear upon social media at a rapid fire pace, almost as if it were like everyone was in some kind of joke posting race. No one is safe, whether it's on the internet or the world outside. When it comes to April Fools' Day, there's no place to hide

[King paces his room, trying to understand this "holiday"]

King: I don't get the fun and I don't get the cheer. If anything I'd think this day would fill everyone with fear. For whether it is done willingly or done because of a dare, this is a day where assholes and pricks run amok without care. Why content creators indulge so much in this I have no clue, shouldn't they know by now that on this day everyone expects nothing to be true? Some argue that they're just trying to be creative, funny, and/or fun. But as soon as I realize it's just for a joke I stop and shout "I'm done!" It's a day that makes you feel uneasy and makes you feel that you need to distrust. A day that does that to someone just for "fun" sounds more like a bust.

Narrator: And King, with his annoyance continuing to grow. Stood puzzling and puzzling.

King: How can it be so?

[King sits back on his bed]

King: It's a day that celebrates saying whatever sounds crass, a day that gives people the chance to harass. It's a day where people use all their brain power and skills as a tool, just so they can make someone else feel like a fool. So what is it, what is it about today? That makes others believe is just one giant day of play?

Narrator: He puzzled and he puzzled til his puzzler was sore.

[King scrolls down the videos to look at the comments section. As he looks he notices some of the commenters are mentioning that this video really brightened their day and how funny as well as clever it is]

Narrator: Then King thought of something he hadn't before.

King: *Sighs* Okay maybe I'm being a little too mean. I don't get the appeal but that doesn't make the holiday obscene. Just because I hate something doesn't mean others should. I could share, not force, my opinion like others would. For it's all our different outlooks that makes us who we are and, in a way, makes us our own special little star.

[King finds another video that, while still being considered an April Fools joke, is still a good video]

King: And I probably shouldn't focus so much on the bad and on the worst. Plenty of people on April Fools' Day come up with posts and videos filled with so much humor and cleverness it could, at any second, burst. I may not like this day, that I willingly declare. But saying everything about it is awful just isn't fair. So if you like this day and think it's grand then that's perfectly fine. If you consider this one of your favorite holidays then that's simply divine! So please don't let me or this post get you down. Go enjoy a day that relishes and welcomes you to be a clown. I can't think of anymore rhymes, I don't have much more to say. So I'll finish this post with  best wishes on this April Fools' Day!

Before I go into things I want to warn people: if you haven't seen the Logan movie but intend too or you have no intention of seeing Logan but do want to look forward to any and all other X-Men related movies then I highly suggest you either not read this at all and move on or read at your own risk due to spoilers to the Logan movie.

So if you don't want anything spoiled for you leave now. You have been warned. Anyways to the people still reading let's get to the main point of this

What am I wrong about? My X-Men movie timeline lists. For those not aware I made a list of the X-Men movies and split them into two categories, movies set in the old timeline and movie set in the new timeline. On the list I put Logan with the old timeline, thinking that a lot of the dialog kinda implies that that was the case. Well I'm here to say that's not the case it seems

killb94, if your reading this, turns out you were right my friend. The director of Logan has confirmed that the movie does in fact take place in the New X-Men Timeline.

I found this out after doing some digging on google and it's been confirmed on multiple sites.

I probably should thought out my X-Men movie line up better before making that list.

So yeah X-23 along with the deaths of Charles Xavier and Logan are officially canon to the new timeline.

Is this the worst news in the world? No. I just find it rather annoying.

Like this movie is basically telling us that no matter what they do or how hard the X-Men try, they are doomed to fall apart in the end. That any and all of the characters we may meet or have already met in the next movies set before Logan will either die, go into hiding, or retire.

While I did greatly enjoy Logan I can't help but feel like this film has hurt the X-Men franchise just as much as helped.

But hey maybe I'm just being too much of a downer about this. Who knows maybe this will lead to great things. We'll just have to wait and see.

Anyways long story short I was wrong. I won't get rid of my previous journal. I'll keep it as a reminder to always dig deeper before making lists like these.

After Thought Notes: Okay so after some MORE digging it turns out that Logan may or may not be set in the new timeline. So it's still being debated. At this this point I just want somebody from Fox to just flat out tell us where it fits in -__-

The X-Men movies range in quality. Fans agree and disagree on which are bad and which are good. But it's generally agreed by a majority of fans that no matter what the quality of the movies are, The X-Men Cinematic Universe is all kinds of confusing .__. So after coming back from seeing Logan (Which you should go see because it's freaking EPIC!) I've decided to try and put these films in an order that makes sense. To make things less painful on myself I've seperated the films into two categories, Old Timeline Dimension and New Timeline Dimension. You're free to disagree if you want this is just how I see it. Anyways it goes something like this:
